Monetize Your Blog From Day One
You can be earning affiliate commissions as soon you as you launch, you can be selling products as soon as you launch. What matters is how well you are promoting what you are offering for sale.
Another reason that I don’t like this myth is that it gives people a false sense of non-urgency.
If you think that monetizing your blog is a long process that requires years of experience, you will go into “one-day mode” where you waste time waiting around doing nothing for your blog and business, when really, you should be hustling to monetize today so that you start earning money from it TODAY.
Yes, you should monetize your blog from day one, offering as many sources of potential revenue streams to your blog as soon as you launch.
You can start earning affiliate commissions from just one blog post, so what are you waiting for?
6 Common Ways To Monetize Your Blog
Here are six common ways to monetize your blog, so you can make money blogging from the start.
1. Affiliate Links
Join affiliate networks and programs that appeal to you, and blog about the products. You will earn a commission whenever someone makes a purchase after clicking your link.
To get started with affiliate marketing, read this!
Some recommended affiliate networks that I use:
Once you are a member, you can join the affiliate programs of thousands of brands. Both have their own referral programs. I love this one because it makes joining and keeping track of several affiliate programs super easy. You can earn cash pretty quick with this site if you are actively promoting your affiliate links. They have a handy tool to build collections of products that you can then add to your website as well.
A high paying affiliate marketing network. It costs just $5 to sign up (which you get back once approved), then you join affiliate programs, work with brands, and get paid. Sign up here.
Affiliate programs hosted on this network pay higher than other networks.

2. Sponsored Posts
Bloggers who have an engaged social following are called ‘influencers’ and they can earn money from sponsored posts, where brands pay them to post to their Instagram and blogs about products.
Joining an influencer network such as Linqia is a great way to earn money as an influencer. Linqia is an influencer & micro-influencer agency that connects bloggers with brands for paid blogging opportunities and blog & Instagram sponsorships.
They accept bloggers who have 2,500+ monthly visitors or followers. It is invite-only. Here’s your invite!

3. Ads
Putting ads on your blog, such as from Google Adsense, Media Vine, Media.net or AdThrive will generate income by way of pay-per-click, where you earn money when the ads are clicked.
The more traffic your blog gets means the more impressions the ads get, and the more money you make.
You will get a 3 month earnings increase when you join Media.net right now! It’s free to have an account, the ads are easy to customize, and there is no traffic minimum requirement to get started. For more info read this: How To Monetize Your Blog WIth Media.net
4. eBooks
Create an eBook yourself in Canva for free and then sell it on your own website, or sell it on Amazon, Apple, ect. I sell an ebook of the Best Instagram Hashtags For Online Entrepreneurs, and because I sell it for only $6, it brings in a ton of monthly sales.
5. Courses
Selling an online course is a majorly profitable passive income source. There are a few different ways you could offer your course for sale.
- As an email course – To offer your course as an email course, you would create the video and/or text lessons, host the videos on Youtube as an unlisted link, and then set up an automation sequence with your email provider (ConvertKit is perfect for this), which would drip your lessons out to your students.
- On your own website – You could offer your course on your own website using a theme specifically designed for courses like this one
- Use a course creation platform – This is how I sell courses and run my Blogging School. I am on the professional plan with Podia and highly recommend it as the most professional and seamless way to sell online courses.

6. Your Own Services/Products
Selling your own services and products is as simple as setting up a Shopify store and then blogging about what you have on offer.
Make Improving Your SEO A Priority
The higher up your pages appear in Google and other search engine results pages, the more traffic you will get, and therefore, the more money you will make overtime.
There are plenty of things you can do to rise in the ranks in this way.
Some things you can do to help your blog’s SEO is to add keywords to your images, use the free Yoast plugin to help you write SEO-friendly content, get the help of SEO experts like WordLead and simply ensuring that you keep your blog regularly updated with new content.
The more angles you approach this from, the more likely it is that you will be able to stay high on the SERP, and therefore to keep your blog as easily monetizable.
