Do you have a mindset for success?
Developing a mindset for success can help you stay motivated, bounce back from setbacks, be more creative, build confidence, and experience greater happiness, abundance and fulfillment in life.
And the best part is, anyone can improve their mindset if they are willing to try. So long as you know these 6 non-negotiables.
The tips in this guide will show you precisely how to develop a success mindset that can take you far as an entrepreneur.
6 Non-Negotiables To Develop A Mindset For Success
Developing a mindset for success is a muscle you get to train.
No one pops out of the womb with all the knowledge and skills it takes to build a multi-million dollar company.
Building a business is like getting fit – it takes reps, sets and patience.
Just like trying to sculpt your abs, if you don’t have the willpower and strength of mind, you may well find yourself throwing in the towel pretty early on.
If you give up on that diet, you might find yourself binging on donuts and saying ‘’well I’m not meant to have a great body, it’s just not possible for me’’.
And if you give up on your business goals after a few months because you don’t see fast results, you might say “Well I guess I’m just not smart enough to make money online.”
Negative self-talk and imposter syndrome are simply made-up thoughts that we tell ourselves when our mind isn’t strong enough to push through the hardships to get to our end goal.
Thinking this way means we haven’t had enough strength to keep going, when things get tough.
If you give up too soon, you’ll never see the reward that’s just around the corner.
Good habits become life cheatcodes that give you an advantage!
Here’s why a mindset for success is the important key ingredient you need to knock all your goals out of the park as an entrepreneur.
1. You Need to Persevere
One of the biggest reasons 95% of new business owners fail in the first few months is that they give up too quickly!
Building a thriving business takes time and consistent action.
If you go into it with a get-rich-quick attitude, money will run from you instead of being attracted to you.
You need to adopt an ‘’I’m in it for the long-term’’ attitude and focus on growth plus giving value instead of just seeing dollar signs.
Building a successful business will be a huge learning curve with LOTS of bumps and you simply have to strap in for the ride and NEVER give up.
In my industry, in the content marketing world, I’ve seen many creators with potential come and go.
A new creator appears in the market, then after a while they disappear and are never heard from again.
They didn’t have the patience to see results grow over time and they gave up too soon.
Whereas a lot of the people in my industry who are now known as “gurus” offer content that is really no different than the content the others had.
The only difference is the “gurus” simply didn’t give up, and that’s why they are still around. Because they refused to quit.
2. Get Uncomfortable And Take Risks
Riches are not going to fall from the sky into your bank account while you’re sitting in that comfort zone.
You need to take risks, make investments, hit record, get on stages, and put yourself out there to do things that make you UNCOMFORTABLE.
- If you’re scared of being on video, you NEED to put yourself on video.
- If you hate writing, you NEED to start writing daily even if it’s just to yourself.
- If you hate public speaking you NEED to book speaking engagements for yourself to get practice.
Your weak mind will try and make you avoid risk, it’s in-built in us to want to stay safe.
But you have to make your mind stronger than that and be willing to do what others are not willing to do.
3. Ignore Self Doubt
Self-doubt is the arch-nemesis of any person trying to build a business.
But the difference between a successful person and an unsuccessful person is that the successful person learns to ignore self-doubt.
As a beginner, you WILL have self-doubt at some point but realize you are not alone.
It’s ok to have doubts when you don’t see immediate results or your feel you don’t know what you’re doing.
Choose to acknowledge these doubts, accept you’ll have them, and push them to the side.
Focus on continually learning your craft and becoming even just 1% better each day.
Don’t compare yourself to others, as this is a surefire way to make you doubt yourself and wonder why you’re not seeing the same results as someone else.
4. Listen To Your Intuition
To cultivate a mindset for success, it’s essential to remain connected to your intuition.
Many people assume that success is solely based on making calculated decisions relying solely on data you can see and compare to.
At some point in your life or career path, you’ll face situations where there isn’t a clear answer.
In these instances, being able to trust and listen to your intuition is crucial.
I have experienced many situations in my life where I found myself in such a predicament. I had to make a decision that confused me, or I felt lost in a stage of my life.
In those moments, I had trouble seeing any clear, obvious right or wrong choice.
And then my intuition popped up (a voice, or a feeling) and guided me toward the right next move.
Although intuition isn’t always a flawless source of information, it can often help to quickly sort out problems that conscious thinking can’t.
Developing the ability to listen to and trust your intuition will allow you to make confident and informed decisions during challenging times.

5. Abundance Over ‘Lack Thinking’
Adopting an abundance mindset involves a shift in perspective from scarcity or lack to one of abundance and possibility.
I know it is not easy to change your entire perspective at once.
Here are some steps that can help you make this shift:
Practice gratitude: Focusing on what you have rather than what you lack can help you develop a more positive outlook.
Take time each day to appreciate the good things in your life and be thankful for them.
Challenge negative beliefs: Many of us have limiting beliefs that hold us back.
For example, you might believe that there isn’t enough money, time, or opportunities to go around. Recognize these false beliefs and challenge them.
Ask yourself if they are really true or if there is evidence to the contrary.
Focus on opportunities: Instead of dwelling on what you don’t have, focus on the opportunities that are available to you.
Start seeing challenges as opportunities for growth.
Surround yourself with abundance: Surround yourself with people who have an abundance mindset.
Seek positive role models and mentors who can help you develop this mindset.

6. Master Your Time
You might just THINK you are an unorganized person and you don’t have time to do this or that.
This is a pre-conceived idea you’ve built up in your head as that’s just the way you’ve lived your life previously.
We are who we are at this point, but know that WE DO have the power to change the way we act and think if we WANT to.
Building a successful business needs consistent daily action and if you have a full-time job or a family, you’ll need to set yourself out a plan to master your time to fit everything in.
Don’t give in to overwhelm, it is entirely possible to build a successful business and make money online around a busy schedule.
Get organized and create a schedule for each day of the week.
Outline the times you’ll work on the business, the times you’ll spend with family, and the times you’ll exercise and whatever else.
Be strict with your time and STICK to this schedule no matter what.
It’s up to you to master your time management and MAKE time for the things that matter.
